10月になって、関東でもようやっと晴れの日が続くようになりました。少しずつ景色が秋の色に変わってきているのを見て、そろそろのんびりと涼しい場所におでかけがしたい…ということで、今回は上野へ行ってきました！

 

  • 開館100周年を迎えた東京都美術館

上野と言えば、動物園やたくさんの美術館と博物館が集まっています。

その中でも、東京都美術館は「展覧会を鑑賞する、子供たちが訪れる、芸術家の卵が初めて出品する、障害のある方が何のためらいもなく来館できる」美術館として、すべての人に開かれた「アートへの入口」となることを目指しています。

1926（大正15）年、日本で最初の公立美術館として上野の地に誕生し、今年で開館100周年を迎えますよ！

 

  • 東京都美術館開館100周年記念の特別展示！大英博物館日本美術コレクション

現在、東京都美術館開館100周年を記念して、「大英博物館日本美術コレクション　百花繚乱〜海を越えた江戸絵画」が、7月25日（土）から10月18日（日）までの期間で開催されています。

地下から順番に階層を上がっていって、とても広い範囲で展示されているので、かなり多くの作品を見ることができますよ。教科書で見たことがあるような有名な絵がたくさんありました。

 

  • 周辺にも見どころがたくさん！

東京都美術館の近くには、日本最古の博物館である東京国立博物館、世界遺産にも登録された国立西洋美術館に、国立科学博物館など、多くの博物館、美術館が集まっています。

また、近くにあるぼたん苑では、現在秋のダリア展が開催されていますよ！

他にも桜、紅葉の名所でもある上野恩賜公園や、アメ横商店街など、この周辺だけでも見どころがたくさんです！

Finally, sunny days are continuing in the Kanto region this October. Seeing the scenery slowly change to autumn colors, I started wanting to head out and relax somewhere cool, so this time we visited Ueno!

 

  • The Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum Celebrates Its 100th Anniversary

Ueno is known for its zoo and its many art museums and museums. Among them, the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum aims to be a gateway to art that is open to everyone: a place where people can enjoy exhibitions, where children can visit, where emerging artists can show their work for the first time, and where people with disabilities can visit without hesitation.

Opened in Ueno in 1926 (Taisho 15) as Japan’s first public art museum, it celebrates its 100th anniversary this year!

 

  • Special Exhibition for the Museum’s 100th Anniversary: Japanese Art from the British Museum

To mark the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum’s 100th anniversary, “Edo in Focus: Japanese Treasures from the British Museum” is currently on view from Saturday, July 25 to Sunday, October 18.

The exhibition spreads across a very wide area, working its way up from the basement level, so you can see a great many works. There were lots of famous paintings that you may recognize from school textbooks.

 

  • Plenty to See in the Surrounding Area, Too!

Near the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, you will find many museums, including the Tokyo National Museum, Japan’s oldest museum; The National Museum of Western Art, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; and the National Museum of Nature and Science.

The nearby Peony Garden is also currently holding its autumn dahlia exhibition!

Ueno Park, famous for its cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, and the Ameyoko shopping street are also close by. There is so much to see in this area alone!
